We produce and distribute video-based manic depression educational programs & related materials. A non-profit organization, we are committed to helping people deal with the often devastating effects of serious mental disorders. Since 1990, our mission has been to increase understanding and improve the care and recovery of those affected by this problem. Our products are intended for a wide range of people, including:
- People with a psychiatric condition,
- Family members and friends,
- Mental health professionals and students,
- Special audiences such as legislators,
- health administrators and educators,
- The general public.
The Project's videotapes are designed to be used in hospital, clinical and educational settings, and by individuals and families. Low prices ensure that anyone concerned with mental health can afford to purchase the tapes.
The social stigma of mental illness makes it harder for those affected to cope with and accept the illness, undermines treatment and recovery, and exacerbates the problems of family members who participate in care. Stigma also diminishes the support given to the professionals who endeavor to provide that care.
